CoorsTek Is Majoy Player in Ceramics
Published Jan 06, 2009

Golden-based CoorsTek Inc. has a fascinating history - and an extensive product line.

In 1910, Adolph Coors invested in Herold China and Potter Co., a Golden manufacturer of oven-safe porcelain. A decade later, the company was renamed Coors Porcelain, and in the mid-1980s
it became Coors Ceramics. After Adolph Coors Co. spun off its non-brewery assets, the current name took effect on Jan. 1, 2000.

Today, CoorsTek is one of the largest ceramics companies in the world, producing thousands of products. They include film substrates for aerospace, aviation and automotive applications; ceramic armor for soldiers, vehicles and aircraft; and ceramics for GPS and microwave applications.
