Colorado Mills Offers Unique Shopping Experience
Published Apr 16, 2005

Each year, more than 10 million shoppers shop at the 100-acre Colorado Mills, some looking for the ultimate bargain and others looking for a unique shopping experience.
The $300 million, 1.1-million-square-foot shopping mega center located in Lakewood houses over 200 tenants.
According to Colorado Mills General Manager Kimra Perkins, the mall also supports community events and programs involving the arts, government and educational entities.
Since its grand opening in November 2002, Colorado Mills has attracted significant numbers of shoppers on an annual basis and has thrived in its convenient location at the juncture of I-70, West Colfax Avenue and the Sixth Avenue Freeway. Filling this retail void on the west side of the Denver Metro area, says Perkins, has been a “win-win” for the mall’s developers, Jefferson County, and the city of Lakewood.
“The economic impact of Colorado Mills is significant. In addition to contributing to the sales tax base, property tax, and public improvement district, operations, and retail stores employ nearly 2,300 area residents,” Perkins says.
