Meet Jefferson County’s Commissioners

Jim Congrove

Jim Congrove, a Colorado native and former state representative and state senator, was elected commissioner in 2004. He previously worked in the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office and the County Treasurer’s Office. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a combat soldier in Vietnam.

Kathy Hartman was sworn in as commissioner in January 2007. For 16 years she was executive director of Stride, a nonprofit agency that helps homeless and low-income families move from poverty to self-sufficiency. She also worked as an investment adviser for seven years for two major Wall Street firms and has been involved in many community and civic organizations.

Kevin McCasky was the Jefferson County assessor for six years before being elected commissioner in 2004. He previously served on the staff of U.S. Rep. Joel Hefley, was a legislative budget analyst for the Joint Budget Committee of the Colorado General Assembly, and has been involved in numerous community and school district activities.
