Jefferson County is graced with a number of chocolate-producing companies, including Wen Chocolates in Wheat Ridge. Wen, an Egyptian word meaning “to exist,” produces handmade truffles and confections with no added sweeteners or preservatives.
All of the chocolates are produced by hand with no machinery, using antique molds from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Lewis Fine Candies in Wheat Ridge has been producing chocolates for more than four centuries, also without any preservatives.The chocolatier makes fudge, peanut brittles and flavored popcorns as well.
Stephany’s Chocolates in Arvada uses a traditional French-recipe milk chocolate as well as dark chocolates from carefully selected beans.The company specializes in truffles, almond butter crunch and intricately decorated individual chocolates.
